How to monetize your blog

You probably know that it’s hard to get into certain affiliate programs. Especially if you’re a beginner. I came across a solution to this problem on Twitter. It’s called SkimLinks. Their product is really amazing. As soon as you’re approved you get instant access to 17,000+ merchant programs. Another great thing is that it’s really easy to use, since it automatically turns your ordinary links into affiliate links (if the link is leading to one of 17,000+ merchant programs websites of course).

Installation is very simple. If you’re using WordPress, vBulletin or Ning you have a plugin available. If you’re using other platforms (TypePad, Tumblr, Blogger, GlamApp) or any other, the installation is as simple as installing google analytics - just copy and paste.

Some merchant programs you get an access to:

  • amazon
  • BestBuy
  • ebay
  • gap
  • dell
  • Canon

I hope this post got your attention to try out SkimLinks and earn some extra bucks from your articles, reviews, recommendations etc. All the best and enjoy life!

Building an APP for girls!

Yea you read it right! :)

Few weeks ago we started a subject where we were supposed to learn Visual Basic which I despise! Thankfully professor offered an alternative. He said that he has an idea for a project and would give straight A’s to students that would like to work on it. I was immediately up for it! So me and a schoolmate Jan applied.

Professors idea was to make a bit different app (from the ones on market) for girls to record their menstruation cyclus etc. (I will be more specific in next posts) Anyways Jan and me divided our work: He is making a version for Windows Phone 7 and I’m making a WEB version, since I already have some PHP skills.

The mobile app will be build for Windows Phone 7 by Jan and I’ll be working on the web app in PHP and a bit of JavaScript. We will use MySQL for a database that will be hosted on Ubuntu server at our Faculty.

Currently I’m working on the user interface, database is already installed. The next part I will have to work on is JSON and REST for syncing data between WP7 and the WEB app, which I still have to figure out first.

Anyway, I will keep you updated about how the project is progressing in future posts.
